The Glencoe Jacket is a fully specified double-layer Ventile® Jacket ideal for a wide range of outdoor activities including field sports, bushcraft and birdwatching.

It features an array of pockets including bellow pockets, perfect for storing large items, inside map pocket and chest handwarmer pockets for comfort on chilly days.

A roll-away hood reduces flapping and smartens the jacket for town use. The sleeves are designed to provide freedom of movement, and the Ventile® material means it is durable and quiet, perfect for field sports, nature watching and photography.

This garment also available in Hilltrek Organic Ventile

This jacket is named after Glencoe, a glen (valley) surrounded by wild and precipitous mountains at the centre of climbing in Scotland and the site of the 1692 Massacre of Glencoe. Find out more in our Glossary.

    Glencoe DV Jacket

Posted by Wendy Hales on 6th Aug 2022

Ordered 2 coats, one for a friend as well who was a machinist for M & S. Although they were along time arriving they were well worth waiting for. Beautifully made!!!
The only complaint was the packaging was not adequate and although ripped luckily there was no damage to the coats

Hilltrek: Thank you for your feedback. We use an outer and inner bag which are biodegradable. It may be that the packaging was at the end of it's lifecycle and more easily ripped. We will send you an email to get more info.

I'm very pleased with the Jacket. The quality and workmanship is first class. For rainy and winter weather I will be using it as my overcoat. I'm sure it will be Ideal for the cold snowy weather here in Scandinavia. The customer service I received from Hilltrek was first class

    Glencoe DV Jacket - Olive

Posted by Matthew Hopkins on 8th May 2021

After a damp Autumn, a full Winter and a cool Spring's worth of use, I can confidently state I am seriously impressed and very happy with my jacket. It is my immediate go to, whenever the UK weather lets us down. Which, as we know, is often! Construction and quality is excellent and the double ventile has never let any water in even when occasionally wearing a rucksack. Breathability is also excellent and any 'fog' clears fast. From new the fabric seemed a little stiff, but once worn normally for a week or so, it becomes soft and almost satin like in feel. And is always silent when moving around. The tall collar keeps the wind off my neck and half my head too! It also hides a well formed hood that is easy to deploy when wearing the jacket. Deep pockets are almost cavernous, including the zipped inner and a waist level patch pocket. Yes it is expensive but quality pays back. My last Ventile jacket is close to 15 years old and still going strong and this one is build tougher! Given that my Glencoe DV is replacing a well know wax cotton jacket that showed damage and wear after less than 2 years of light city living, I am happy to recommend the Glencoe DV jacket to anyone wherever you may wander.

    Glencoe jacket

    I purchesed this jacket

I purchased this jacket as I,ve heard great reviews about the benefits of Double Ventile over the likes of Gore tex. i have wore it on several outings in the Scottish mountains and found it to be totally waterproof and windproof. With care it should outlast any other jacket in its class. I am looking forward to using this jacket for many years to come.

I had a long wait for this jacket but it was worth it. Borders weather is not great and it has been on every days since I got it. Wind, rain, sleet and snow are shrugged off and it seems totally windproof. Not cheap but there again - you get what you pay for. A good buy.
