Slightly tight on waist and thighs - though lockdown must be a factor

Posted by David Scott on 18th Feb 2021

These are heavy trousers - keeping them up is an issue -braces don't really bite on this tough fabric.

Can I suggest therefore some buttons or loops to which we could attach braces. You could also supply the braces also a bib/ trouser would be a killer.

Blaven DV Trousers - The Best of the Best

Posted by James Cartright on 4th Feb 2021

Ive tried a few brands but my Hilltrek Blaven DV trousers are the best by far. These are very very tough, and seem to be very resistant to thorns and unforgiving ground cover. They're fully water proof and I've found even with strenuous exercise remain dry on the inside suggesting breathing is far better than other so called technical fabrics. Ive now 2 pairs. My first pair I purchased some 2 years ago and have seen heavy action across the hills of Scotland through to the Alps. These now look even better than they were new. The pockets are very well designed (mine have no cargo pockets) that combines open pockets as well as zipped pockets for keep-safe items.
Belt loops are strong, and the overall quality of the stitching is first class. It's hard to think of an improvement; if there was one I'd make it a double popper at the top; the single popper can come open if your consistently bending over to pick things up but it's a small issue especially if wearing a belt. As to care, I hose down with a cold hose and dry; I've reproofed them once by hand. If you are looking for the best temperate / cold field trousers then these in my view are the best of the best.

    Excellent

Posted by Mike Johnson on 29th Jan 2020

The trousers appear to be very well made and are a near perfect fit. I have been out in some cold and unpleasant weather recently and the trousers have done exactly what I needed - keeping me warm and dry. Having never worn trousers like this before I wasn't sure what to expect so was very pleased with the results. The only minor niggle I have is that the fly zip is somewhat exposed and the material in front of it is too small to cover it, which isn't really an issue when wearing a coat. Overall I’m pleased I took a chance on ordering them without having seen or tried a pair on.
