Our lightweight Talorc Hybrid Ventile® Jacket is tough enough to cope with most weather conditions yet stylish enough to look good in the pub. The hybrid design is optimised to give a lighter weight jacket, fully waterproof in the shoulders and hood and weatherproof elsewhere and with excellent breathability.

Featuring an athletic fit, the Talorc includes a host of zipped pockets for safely storing away essentials, including an inner mobile phone pocket with wire access for ear-phones. The jacket features an adjustable hem and hood for temperature control in most conditions. For even more heat control and comfort, add optional pit-zips.

This garment also available in Hilltrek Organic Ventile

The Talorc Jacket is inspired by our Pictish forefathers who were tough and uncompromising and yet created unique and beautiful art. It is named after a Pictish King said to originate from the North East of Scotland.

The jacket is ideal for walking, wildlife and bird watching and will also appeal to bushcraft enthusiasts. For a heavier weight version of the Talorc aimed at the toughest of conditions, take a look at our Talorc DV Jacket.

    Talorc Hybrid Ventile Jacket

Posted by Pete A on 24th Aug 2024

I'm always wary of people who review having not tested something over time... and I've not had this jacket long, so maybe that is me... but after a very very wet week in Scotland I found that my Jacket stood up really well to wind and constant rain, and it surprised me how waterproof the jacket is. Wearing it feels different to a plastic jacket as it get heavy and stiffens with wetness, and takes longer to dry, but it feels great and looks good - so at the moment this is 4.5stars, but may well become 5 stars, but more time is needed for that!

    Stunning Product

Posted by Kevin Mallory on 21st Apr 2023

This is one very serious jacket. The best of materials, an extremely well thought out design, and top shelf construction and details. If you are looking for the best - look not further - a better jacket for all conditions which require a jacket, cannot be found. Do not hesitate - you will have this piece for your lifetime - and you will enjoy and appreciate it every time you put it on.

    Good for English Winter.

Posted by Unknown on 10th Dec 2022

For the upper body this is all that's needed for walking during winter in the South. The hoodless Greenspot is good enough for summer, but we just need something hooded and a little more for the coldest part of Winter.

    Talorc Hybrid Ventile Jacket

Beautifully made jacket, oozes real quality. If you are concerned about your carbon footprint this isn't made halfway across the world then shipped to the UK, it's made by hand in Scotland. Should last a lifetime

    Talorc Hybrid Ventile Jacket

Posted by Mark Sneddon on 15th Mar 2021

Talorc Hybrid Ventile Jacket is well made with excellent craftsmanship. The jacket fits me well, including the hood, which moves with me without restricting visibility- too often this is not the case.
I received the jacket a few days ago and so have not yet had a chance to fully test its performance but I am looking forward to put the jacket through its paces here in Alaska.

    Talroc Jacket

Posted by Allan Comrie on 24th Nov 2020

    Quality manufacture.
Hybrid version is very protective while being a bit lighter than my older Cuillin double ventile jacket.
    Great fit with plenty pockets.
Not cheap but should outlast any Goretex.

    Talorc Hybrid Jacket

Posted by J. Chuquet on 26th Jun 2018

The Talorc is really comfortable to wear, more flexible than for instance the double ventile Glencoe, while keeping its wind-proof qualities (plus waterproof to a degree) . Two points that would require attention though: the hood cannot be folded away in the collar and is far too tall for a normal head-size: only wearing a cap or a bonnet underneath can improve visibility in front! The colour I chose is Royal Blue and I noticed discoloration (to white) in places (sleeve cuffs and side pockets ) where friction was more frequent. Otherwise it's a great jacket.

    Thanks for your review
We size the hood to allow hats and helmets to be worn. The volume adjuster should enable the hood volume to be adjusted to a suitable level. Due to the jacket design regrettably we cannot incorporate a fold away hood.
Ventile will discolour through wear and washing however we are surprised that it is exhibiting discolouring so early in its life. Please contact us with photos.

    Talorc Hybrid Jacket

Posted by Tom on 25th Nov 2017

I am very happy with this jacket-it hits the sweet spot of being fairly light but warm with a good level of protection from the rain and good reachability. Very good quality and will be my go-to jacket for the hills in Summer and Winter. One minor drawback- the hood could do with being an inch or two larger as my head squishes a bit against the top-although I am pretty tall. Overall I am a convert to Ventile over other waterproof fabrics, especially with a good wool jumper underneath in the Winter.

    Talorc Hybrid Ventile Jacket

Posted by Anders Jensen on 6th Nov 2017

this is an excellent jacket and perfect for its intended use: hiking in rainy and windy Denmark. it is very comfortable, light and has a lot of useful features especially well-designed pockets. the quality is superb especially the stictching, the material and the zippers. It wears very well and becomes even more comfortable during rain showers. Best jacket ever. PS delivery was eight rather than the promised four weeks, but worth waiting for.
