Update on the Nanook Polar expedition

Vincent Cochin is about to start his ground breaking polar expedition. Here is his update

I've been in Yellowknife (Northwest Territories, Canada) for the last
10 days, finishing preparing and packing up, and I've had an idea that
kept growing: attempting the beat the record fro the longest unassisted
and unsupported polar journey (no resupply, no engine, no wind-kite, no
sled-dogs). The actual record is 2275km, made in 2011 on a return
journey to the South Pole.
My route will be a bit longer, around
2400km, and because it's not a return journey, I'll not be able to lay
some food cache on my way up to retrieve on my way down, a system used
by the current holders of the record to lighten the sled faster.
Every day now, i'm training to pull an heavy sled, loaded of 110kg (I
will have a total load of 140kg). I believe I can do it and I'm going
for it. Therefore, I wont stop in the 3 Inuit communities on my route,
but I'll still film the life of the locals in Kugaaruk (Canada), the
starting point, and in Qaanaaq (Greenland), the arrival. Showing the
Inuits's life remain an important part of the project.
